This new residence is located on Latham Island, a Yellowknife neighbourhood on Great Slave Lake. Constructed on an undeveloped lot, the location provides the opportunity to retain many of the mature trees on the site. Design for the residence was developed in 2009. Construction was completed in February, 2011

The residence places utility/non-living spaces on the entry floor level with living spaces above, a common configuration for homes in Yellowknife. The kitchen and dining areas are on the 2nd floor adjacent to a large west-facing deck. Bedrooms are on the 3rd floor and feature views of Great Slave Lake. The open design and extensive use of windows on the 2nd floor allows for ideal views of the surrounding natural scenery.

A boiler provides heat via in-floor heating as well as hot water for the home. Windows were placed to take advantage of cross ventilation during the summer months.
